The Commitment – Saying Yes!
The Champions of Honor process starts a commitment. This may be as the response to a call from your Pastor, who like Gideon wants his band of men who are true, loyal, and will stand with him. It may be as a result of the beginning of a Men’s Ministry in your church. Either way, it is the result of a man catching a vision that he can be more than he is; that he can be a Champion.
When you catch that vision, it is formalized by signing a Covenant to do the work to complete the mission and be commissioned as a Champion of Honor. Some churches have held “Covenant Signing” Services, but the covenant is between the man, his Pastor and God to complete the Champions Training and be commissioned.
The second part of commitment to Champions of Honor is consistent in our faithfulness to our local church. It is not about the money, it is about commitment and faithfulness of a Champion who consistently gives on a faithful basis to his church. This shows his commitment in the little things.
It is said that a man’s heart is where his time and money are. If you look at your calendar and checkbook or spending habits, you will see where your heart is. The commitment process therefore challenges the time of a man to study the resources and the money of a man to give something.

The Group – Joining a Band of Brothers
One of the most important parts of the process is the forming of the “Band of Brothers” between the men of that church. Regular weekly meetings where men can be men is a must. Some come together and grill hamburgers and hot dogs, and have a time of fellowship which is then followed by a time of teaching and breaking into small groups to discuss the teaching. These small groups are so very powerful. As the group gets to know one another, the walls come down, and there is great opportunity for ministry. This is how the “Band of Brothers” begins to form.
There may also be a Men’s Sunday school class to supplement the weekly meeting but you need that men’s night out to seal the deal. Attendance at the meetings are noted, and become an integral part of the commissioning process. No man is an island, and someone who doesn’t attend the groups isn’t going to bind to the band of brothers. Attendance counts towards commissioning requirements.
SubscribeThe Process - Learning Masculine Godliness
This is where the books come in. The Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians that Christ prepares His church by “the washing of water by the word.” By the same token, a man who wants to grow in Godly manhood needs to read the Word and books that are written from a Masculine perspective.
The Warrior Arsenal - Tier 1
All of the books listed in the Curriculum have been approved and will count towards commissioning. To be commissioned, a Champion must complete 10 required resources, regularly attend men’s meetings, and read his Bible daily. It is a good idea to journal while going through your training. Tier 1 has specific requirements to round out the maculine journey and the sword is presented upon completion in a commissioning service. There is a $100 commissioning fee.

The Knight's Armor - Tier 2
After being commissioned and receiving their sword, the Champion moves to Tier 2, where he must read four books out of the choices listed while exploring his passion as a mission. He must also be part of a small group of men or lead one. Reproducing champions is encouraged at this level as well as developing your armor. Upon completion the 2nd tier candidate is recognized with a Shield of Faith. There is a $60 2nd Tier Recognition Fee.
King in Action - Tier 3
A King in Action is a man on a mission. He is involved in ministry to men and is reproducing himself and commissioning others. Tier 3 has a man reading two of the choices listed and his bible in a year. As he grows the men around hom he grows himself. Suggested recognition is a pewter 'Knight on a Horse' statue. Cost for the statue is $60.

The plan is that simple. It is a challenge for men to grow in Christas a man and then to help other men grow in Christ as well. It truly develops ‘Bands of Brothers.’
The Commisioning - Completing the Process
A man who has kept the Covenant with his Pastor, become part of the “Band of Brothers,” and has completed the 10 resources, is eligible to be commissioned.
To be commissioned, the candidate must complete and turn in a copy of the Resource Completion Form for each of the 10 requirements to his pastor. The pastor or leader will then complete a Request for Commissioning Form and it will be submitted to national office of Champions of Honor with a $100 1st tier commissioning fee, followed by scheduling a commissioning service. Recognition services for the 2nd and 3rd tiers will be handled on a case by case basis with the church and Champions office. 2nd and 3rd tier recognition is $60 each.

Steps of a Champion
Every man that joins with Champions of Honor must “pay the price of championship” as Ed Cole said in his book, Courage. He must commit to grow in Christ through God's Word and "masculine context" resources.

We believe it is time for men to quit being spiritually weak and develop as warriors for Christ. Each man must be a man of vision, understand the meaning of unity on the team, be disciplined and faithful, be an inspiration to others, and persevere with character to the finish. Here are the four steps to completing the 1st tier of Champions Training.
- STEP 1: Each man must acquire pastoral approval and sign a covenant with his pastor to be a Champion.
You can download the covenant here.
We also have a referral form that your pastor can fill out. - STEP 2: Each man must complete 10 units of the required "Champions of Honor" resources, Read his Bible Daily and be a part of a band of brothers.
You can click here for a list of resources. - STEP 3: Each man must get involved in a Champions Circle, Letting Iron Sharpen Iron with a group of men committed to one another.
Champions need a team to play for and a coach to help develop the skills of a Champion. You need to have at least one other man (or more) to join your Champions Circle for accountability and encouragement. - STEP 4: Each man must become a Champion of Missions. When a man's heart is touched by God, his hands soon follow. Every man wants to do something significant with his life.
- Once you have completed the required resources, you may apply for commisioning with the request for comissioning form on this website and submit it along with the comissioning fee.
We welcome you in the process that will change your life and a challenge that will grow your walk with God.
